Written: February 5, 1877
I Benjamin Madison of Pine Township in the county of Crawford and state of
Pennsylvania being of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and
declare this my last will and testament.
First I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.
I give and bequeath to my heirs of the whole blood that is my brothers and
sisters the house and lot situated in Linesville county and state afore said
mentioned, bounded on the west by land of Samuel Bunnell on the North by land
of S.E. Bonday and the east and south by losts of Gillialand and others
containing one acre & fifty eight perches which I direct my Executor to sell to
the best advantage by either public or private sale and divide the proceeds
equally among my brothers and sisters share and share alike and in case of the
decease of either brother and sister than their share to pass to the heirs of
such brother and sister that is the the heirs of John Madison one share, and
Maria Lewis one share, the heirs of Betsy Ann Lord one share, and Ellen Cook
one share and Alvin Madison one share and the heirs of Eunice Baldwin one
share, and Lovina Lord one share and the heirs of Elisabeth Rogers one share,
and Clarecy Sharp one share, and Mary Little one share, and James Madison one
share.
I give and bequeath my nephew James Hathaway two hundred dollars.
I give device and bequeath to my sister in law Sarah Thomas all the rest and
residue of my property real personal and mixed of every kind, after the
paymentr of my debts and the Legecys to James Hathaway to have and to hold the
same to give the said Sarah Thomas & to her heirs and assigns forever.
And lastly I do constitute and appoint my friend S.A. Miller my Executor of
this my last will and Testament.
In witness to hereof I Benjamin Madison the Testator have to this my Will
written on one sheet of paper set my hand and Seal this fifth day of February
A.D. 1877
